Key stage 4 - GCSE

Twenty First Century Science

Most students will study double science to achieve two GCSE grades over the two years. Some students have opted to study triple science (over 2 years) by attending twilight sessions to study the extra modules.

All students study GCSE Science in Year 10.

In year 11 students will study Additional Science or Additional Applied Science.

  • Science
  • You & Your Genes, Keeping Healthy, Life on Earth, Air Quality, Material Choices, Food Matters, The Earth in the Universe, Radiation & Life, and Radioactive Materials.

  • Additional Science
  • Homeostasis, Growth & Development, Brain & Mind, Chemical Patterns, Chemicals of the Natural Environment, Chemical Synthesis, Explaining Motion, Electric Circuits, and The Wave Model of Radiation.

  • Additional Applied Science
  • Life Care, Agriculture & Food, Scientific Detection, Harnessing Chemicals, Communications, and Materials & Performance.
