School Day

Our school day runs from 8:30am to 2:55pm.  Students have a 15 minute registration period with their form group and form tutor from 8:30.  Students have 5 lessons, each one hour long with a morning break (20 minutes) and a lunch break (50 minutes.) 

We currently allow Year 11 students to leave the school site at lunchtime, however it is our intention to keep all students on the school premises throughout the school day from September 2012 unless we receive a written request from parents / carers to permit them to go home.  We want our students to be able to access extra curricular activities at lunchtime, as well as using our facilities in the school canteen, indoor work / recreation areas and vast outdoor spaces. 

Since 2010, we have employed a split lunch system, which means that whilst some year groups are taking lunch, others continue learning.  This has been put in place to enable students a better lunchtime experience, more time and space to sit down, eat, socialise and access activities.  The school canteen serves a range of healthy, competitively priced, hot and cold food and snacks at breakfast, break and lunchtimes.

Lesson 3              11.05—12.05

Lesson 4              12.05—13.05  (Years 7, 9, 11, 12 & 13 lunchtime) 

Lesson 5              13.05—13.55  (Years 8 & 10 lunchtime)
