Crawshaw consults on Trust Status

The new year has seen an exciting new development unfold at Crawshaw as we open a consultation period on acquiring Trust Status.  A letter went to parents last week, as well as a Frequently Asked Questions document.  Both these documents are now available for download here.  There is now a more detailed Frequently Asked Questions Document available here.  Alternativley, for more information regarding Trust Schools, visit the website of the Specialist Schools & Academies Trust.

Crawshaw receives DCSF & Local Government recognition

I am delighted to report that I have received further confirmation of Crawshaw's continued development of high standards in education.  On Wednesday I received a letter from Vernon Coaker MP, Minister of State for Schools and Learners (DCSF,) stating that he is "delighted to congratulate the school on the excellent performance demonstrated at Key Stage 4 in the 2009 Achievement and Attainment Tables published on 18 January.  The results for Crawshaw show that the school is amongst the top performing schools this year based on sustained improvement in 5+ A*-C GCSEs (and equivalent) including mathematics GCSEs."  He added "Please pass on my thanks and congratuations to your pupils, staff and governors for their hard work and success, and send my best wishes for continued improvement in the year ahead."

This was backed up by Paul Truswell MP, who emailed me to congratulate the school on coming 64th in the UK for improvements in GCSE results.  Paul added that "it's a great achievement of which staff, students, governors and the community can be rightly proud."

Subject Information for Parents

Recent developments in school have led to the establishment of a Parents Forum (See below for details of the next meeting.)  Ms Rose is the member of staff responsible for this in her role as Parental Engagement Coordinator.  An issue that was raised at the first Forum meeting was the availability of information about subjects, particularly current information regarding what topics are being covered, expectations of students and such like.  In response to this, we have put together some subject information, which is being sent to you.  These resources are now available for download here

Pudsey Confederation Prospectus is now available for download Click here.

Thank you for your continued support.
